Free legal education webinars for INN members
ProJourn and the Institute for Nonprofit News are partnering to offer a series of educational webinars.
The first webinar will cover employment law and will take place on March 20th, 2025, at 2pm ET. The webinar will cover the categorization of workforce (exempt versus non-exempt employees and the role of independent contractors); general wage and hour guidelines; employee handbooks; ongoing developments and insights on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the employment context. The speakers are attorneys from the law firm Crowell & Moring. INN members can register here.
The second webinar will cover immigration law and will take place on May 2, 2025, at noon ET. Issues covered during the webinar will include the impact of recent presidential executive orders addressing immigration on nonprofit news organizations, the legal considerations for news organizations employing reporters with various immigration statuses, and the legal implications for these reporters when crossing borders for reporting purposes.
