Attorney Spotlight

Spotlight On: Erin Morrissey Victoria, Counsel, Caplan Cobb LLC

In honor of International Women’s History Month 2026, we’re sharing a spotlight series on the women attorneys whose pro bono work gives journalists the legal support they need to keep their communities informed.

Our first spotlight turns to Erin Morrissey Victoria, Counsel at Caplan Cobb LLC and a bilingual attorney who has become one of ProJourn’s most active volunteers. Victoria reviews articles and podcasts for news organizations ahead of publication and leads trainings that help journalists understand their news gathering rights. Most recently, she led a training focused on helping bilingual journalists understand why pre-publication review matters.

Through ProJourn, I’ve had the opportunity to provide pre-publication review and media-law workshops in both English and Spanish. This has allowed me to roll up my sleeves and work directly with journalists on legal issues impacting their reporting. In these challenging times, it feels especially rewarding to support journalists’ crucial work in my own way. I’m grateful for my collaboration with ProJourn, and look forward to expanding those efforts in the future.

We’re grateful for Erin’s commitment to press freedom, particularly her work supporting Spanish-speaking newsrooms.
